I feel this game is slept on a little bit. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Collection is a bit of a mouthful of a name, and the gameplay in this kart racer is not groundbreaking. But it is a solid addition to the genre. Enjoyable to play alone or especially split screen. Controls feel snappy, the tracks are well designed and the characters are likable. SWORN
Seriously! This is easily up with Dr. Robotnik’s Ring Racers and Crash Team Racing in terms of how good it is. I’ll admit that it doesn’t quite have the mechanical depth DRRR and CTR have, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy, unfun, or boring. The career mode is difficult but not in an irritating way, which is good considering how you have to play through it in order to unlock characters and other stuff. The online matchmaking is surprisingly still alive too, if you’re looking to play with real people.
