Neva is an emotionally-charged action adventure from the visionary team behind the critically acclaimed GRIS. Neva chronicles the story of Alba, a young woman bound to a curious wolf cub following a traumatic encounter with dark forces. Together they embark on a perilous journey through a once-beautiful world as it slowly decays around them. Neva is a beautiful story about the relationship between a parent and their child. The art, sound, and gameplay is 10/10 for me. The ending was incredible and left me with my jaw on the floor. I sobbed for an entire 15 minutes after it was over. I also sobbed 30 seconds in. This is the best storytelling I’ve ever seen in a video game of this caliber and I will buy anything Conrad Roset makes until the end of time. I loved Neva and it is my favorite game of 2024 by far. I’ve only played through the first chapter so far and I love it. GRIS is one of my favorite games of all time and Nomada Studio has done it again. They continue to prove that video games are an art form. Berlinist did a phenomenal job with the music score here as well. I sat on the main menu screen for a good 10 minutes because the music alone was incredible. Also, you can pet Neva indefinitely. After playing GRIS, I knew Neva would be another gem. You can tell a lot of love went into this game. It’s absolutely beautiful. You journey through a world with your beloved companion and as time passes, subtle things change, keeping the gameplay fresh and interesting. Genuinely, what a great story.
