Real time combat takes a while to click with the player, although after far too easy P5R and jokingly trivial P3R, the unbalanced gameplay is a welcome novelty. There’s less writing, because of lack of a dating sim aspect, which leads to people bashing it for having no story, but personally I find the story much better than in the original P5. I went in expecting Dynasty Warriors with a Persona 5 theme, and I ended up getting Persona 5 with a different combat system instead. The combat was generally fun and enjoyable, however it can be slog at higher difficulties.
