These games are anything but realistic, but they always felt just a bit more self-serious – Wolfenstein 2 is almost anything but. It’s outwardly ludicrous in a way that is sometimes charming, but often grating or distracting. It’s tone doesn’t match the dire situations of the world & characters, and leaves me feeling dissonant from what it’s trying to say. As a first-person shooter, a game to be experienced? Wolfenstein 2 of my new favorites. Looks and plays like a dream. The sound design and engine seriously make this 2017 game look like it came out today. Really high marks here.
