The long-awaited sequel to the Commandos series brings you right back to the foundation of the real-time tactics genre. And to the days where Jack O’Hara, the Green Beret, and his five companions met to form the infamous unit sent to complete missions which no others would dare to accept. Core loop is very good, but there are a lot of bugs that make presentation really rough. Enemies will do a buggy break-dance half the time when you kill them. Game is not optimized so great and stutters even if your frames are good, I get an average of 120 with DLSS quality mode with a 4060 and an i9. Nomad Idle
The game is absolutely okay. I haven’t encountered any serious bugs. The ragdoll physics are definitely weird, but that can be fixed. The graphics and gameplay are solid. The Commandos series has always been one of my all-time favorite games. I haven’t played much lately, but Commandos: Origins might bring back some great memories for me. It’s definitely not as challenging—even on Veteran mode—as the original Commandos was, but it still has moments where you really need to think about your next move. Thumbs up to the devs—it’s a pretty decent piece of work. With further patches, I’m confident this game can live up to its predecessors.
