Detroit: Become Human, the award-winning video game production from Quantic Dream, is finally available on Steam! Featuring world-renowned actors including Jesse Williams (Grey’s Anatomy), Clancy Brown (Carnivale), Lance Henriksen (Aliens), Bryan Dechart (True Blood) and Valorie Curry (Twilight). Detroit 2038. Technology has evolved to a point where human like androids are everywhere. They speak, move and behave like human beings, but they are only machines serving humans. Within a few hours of starting to play, Detroit: Become Human had moved to the short list of my all time favorite games. It is an absolute masterpiece. Although the ethical questions surrounding robots and sentience have been covered in many books and movies, this game puts a new spin on the topic with a cast of characters that you will fall in love with. I laughed, I cried, and I celebrated with Markus, Kara, and Connor. Assassin’s Creed Unity
The game is brilliantly constructed with a compelling story, a beautiful sound track, and excellent acting (voice-overs and motion capture). The plot twists and turns with a surprising number of outcomes based on the decisions you make. It is a game where choices really do matter. Completionists (100% Steam Achievements or execution of all story lines) should plan on playing the entire game through twice, at a minimum. In addition, you will need to replay specific segments of the game for mutually exclusive achievements. There is a chapter/checkpoint option that lets you repeat sections with or without impacting your current progress. While this is a great feature to undo mistakes or pick up mutually-exclusive achievements, you will still find yourself doing a lot of replay. I did not see this as a hardship, as it was so interesting the watch the plot proceed through different branches.
