Mirthwood released – Gameplay and Review
an enchanting RPG life sim. Fleeing a continent swept with war your arrival in a new land provides a fresh start. Experience an immersive medieval fantasy world sandbox that allows you to choose who you want to be. Mirthwood was on my radar and I would have been beyond excited if it weren’t for the combat. A dev statement said their goal was letting you avoid it, but I was wary. When I was generously gifted a review copy, I thought I’d give it a try. I found options for “easier combat” and “easier survival” in the settings and chose both, hoping for a chill RPG+ experience in a beautiful world that’s not just yet another cutesy farming sim.

Farming probably would have been a better and more profitable experience if I’d figured out earlier how to properly prepare the soil. Watering actually has the best system I’ve come across, always found that a pita in other games. You can’t collect or “produce” your own seeds though, so that’s tedious. There’s a decent amount of decorations and extra stuff to customise your house, and they are in the same pleasant style as the rest of the game. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Splintered Fate
