All is not well on the waves, a crisis is brewing. A water crisis! Mysteriously, this precious resource has turned deadly, corroding metal limbs and mechanical hearts. Take charge as Captain Leeway joined by his ragtag crew of Steambots to uncover the enigmatic menace threatening the Great Sea. In the heat of battle, precision is key. Take aim and let your shots ricochet with deadly accuracy. Every move counts as you strategise your way to victory, using your environment to your advantage and bouncing bullets off surfaces to outmaneuver your enemies. Aside from this there is also a lot of great music in the inns. Overall I think this game is better played after the first one, so you have a good understanding of the base mechanics.

But that aside, its a much more tactically deep game and it has a much better atmosphere imo (the world map does a lot here) Steamworld Heist 2 accomplishes something quite rare in the modern gaming age, being an innovative yet true to their roots sequel. I’ve enjoyed everything about the game, what set Steamworld Heist 1 apart from similar-ish games of it’s ilk was the unique world and characters, all this has been expanded upon in this sequel, to the point where I felt a lot more emotionally attached to the Leeway Crew than to the one captained by Faraday.
